Filmmaking: Dieser WissenPlus Beitrag enthält erneut Unterrichtsmaterial der Plattform „Me and Your Stories“. So lernen Schüler/innen einen Film im Unterricht zu produzieren – vom Erklärvideo bis zum Stop-Motion-Clip.

Im Oktober haben wir schon über die Plattform Me and Your Stories in einem Interview mit Eveline Wiesenhofer von atempo berichtet. Atempo bietet derzeit Online-Workshops an Schulen im Bereich Digital Storytelling anhand der MYS Toolbox zum Thema eBooks und Stop Motion Videos an.

Zudem enthält die Online-Plattform (aktuell noch in Englisch, ab 2021 in Deutsch, Rumänisch und Slowakisch) sehr viel Unterrichtsmaterial zum Einbau von digitalen Medien in den Unterricht. Es werden Gemeinschaftssinn, Toleranz und Klassengemeinschaft gestärkt.

In diesem Beitrag widmen wir uns den Materialien zur Nutzung von Film im Unterricht.

Film im Unterricht Was jetzt me and your stories

Ein Film kann auch mit Handy und Tripod gedreht werden.

Dieser Beitrag stellt drei Themenbereiche dar:

eine Übersicht zum „Filmmaking“ und der Kunst des Storytelling im Film
die Produktion von Erklärvideos (explanation Videos) und
die Herstellung von Stop Motion Videos inklusive Apps

Die Unterlagen zum Filmmaking wurden in Kooperation mit dem Kultusministerium Niedersachsen erstellt. Sonja Giersberg (Niedersächsisches Kulturministerium) und Uwe Plasger (Studienrat und Medienpädagogischer Berater der Medienberatung Niedersachsen) konzipierten das spannende Unterrichtsmaterial. Vor Ort koordiniert die Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kultusministerium die Koordinationspartnerin Stana Schenck von inclution gUG in Deutschland. Das Projekt Me and Your Stories wird von der EU und dem Bildungsministerium kofinanziert.

Auszug aus dem Beitrag: Film im Unterricht

Filmmaking offers many different tasks and approaches of varying complexity, with which students can express something about themselves or a topic. The lessons include story writing, recording short video and audio sequences. Video and audio editing on a computer or with an editing app on a tablet are also included in the lesson plan.

What kind of material do you need for this lesson?

video camera or tablet
smartphone
tripod, stand or holder for the video device
microphone, boom, cable, headphones
clapperboard, chalk
computer with video editing software or tablet/smartphone with video editing app

The aim of the 8 lesson sequences is for the students to understand how storytelling works in film. They put their understanding into action and create their own film. How awesome is that?! They film short videos with their equipment and edit it.

The students learn the basic principles of filmic narration, create their own story and learn typical tasks and communication on film sets. Through practice the learners not only improve their use of the film equipment and apps but also enhance their teamwork skills.

Material: Explanation videos

The lesson material on explanation videos uses the apps and programs: screenrecorder, sparkol and iMovie. Explanation videos are short 30 seconds to 3 minutes videos. They can be made on all kinds of topics. It is so easy to make such short videos that learners can use their own photos and drawings to make videos and photos.

How to create a stop motion video:

Stop motion is a film technique that creates an illusion of motion. Single photos are taken with small changes in between. The fast playback creates the impression of movement. Stop motion is a really cool way of experiencing animated film as an artistic and cultural expression. Additionally, analog and digital media interact in creative visual design.
